  19th Tour de Rez reaches Window Rock! The Tour de Rez reached its conclusion on July 20, as 18 riders from Shonto, Chilchinbeto and Ganado road into the Navajo Nation capital. These riders represented over 180 students from across the rez who took part in the 1000-plus mile journey around Dine' Bikeyah. Riders from Red Mesa High School, Shonto Prep, Round Rock Elementary, Red Valley-Cove High School, Indian Wells School, Chilchinbeto Community Breadsprings Youth Program, Montezuma Creek Elementary, Aztec Dorm, Red Mesa Elementary and Kayenta Middle School rode various stages of this year's Tour. The Tour traversed some of the most amazing country of Dine' Bikeyah - magical Monument Valley, Chuska Mountains, the Four Corners, Grand Canyon, Rainbow Bridge and Canyon de Chelley. Service projects along the route included a major trail restoration at Twin Falls in the Carrizo Mountains near Teec Nos Pos. In addition,Tour youth crews did work on picnic/camping areas at Buffalo Pass, Chi Chil Tah, Narbana Pass and Wheatfields Lake and completed a very cool (and muddy) irrigation project at Monument Valley. Congratulations to all of the amazing youth for an extraordinary summer!
