Chuska Challenge Mountain Bike Race

The Chuska Challenge is a grassroots mountain bike event that is staged annually in the Chuska Mountains of the Navajo Nation. The Chuska was first established in 1995 and has occurred annually since that time throughout the range.

Registration Information

Chuska weekend includes a variety of mountain bike rides and races, kids’ events, live music, workshops and presenters.  There will be mechanics on-site for any minor repairs, along with EMS and Rangers to address any health or medical needs.  Massage services will be available as part of post-race festivities.


Chuska registration includes a long-sleeve performance t-shirt, Chuska poster, course support, a chance at awards and a variety of live music, ranging from drums, Navajo blues, classic rock and traditional. The popular Chuska raffle offers tons of prizes to riders.


Camping will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at the Chuska camp. A light breakfast on Saturday and Sunday is included for riders, and local food and coffee vendors will be selling on Friday night as well as on Saturday throughout the day.
